Interview with an inspiring & upcoming author!
- I have had the greatest opportunity to do an interview with a friend of mine named Danielle. Danielle has been fascinated with books most all her life. Whether it be fiction or non-fiction, her love for books has great variety. I recently sat down with Danielle to speak to her & ask a few questions about a book she is writing herself.
- Mercedes(Me): Tell me a little bit about the book you are writing.
- Danielle: The book I'm writing is actually a book for people who are struggling with all sorts of problems such as any anxiety or depression disorders, family problems, addiction, abuse & more. My book is to show those who are struggling with these problems that there can always be a happy outcome.
- Mercedes: How is it that you are going to show your readers these positive outcomes that can be reached?
- Danielle: Over the past couple weeks I've been doing interviews with people that have actually struggled with a lot of these problems. I will be taking their stories and incorporating them into my book to give the readers hope. To show them that there are others out there struggling with the same problems and they have gotten out of them just fine.
- Mercedes: Does your book have a title?
- Danielle: Yes, it's called "The Stories of the Perfectly Imperfect"
- Mercedes: What made you decide to write such an inspiring book?
- Danielle: My biggest inspiration was that I have struggled with some of these problems myself & recieved a lot of help from doctors & my husband. I figured I could help others by doing this.
- Mercedes: Was it hard to write about some of the problems that you had to go through?
- Danielle: Yes & no. I've shared my stories many times & this time for a good cause. Some brought up hurtful memories that had really took toll on me. But i look at it this way, I got through them & I am now happily married & living a great life. So I want to show others they can do the same.
- Mercedes: How did you get the word out there about your new book or the interviews you were looking to do?
- Danielle: Various websites such as Facebook & Tumblr actually.
- Mercedes: Did you have a lot of people willing to share there personal information?
- Danielle: Yes & No. Most people knew it was for a good cause & were really willing to help me spread the word but others were afraid of the publicity. So I explained to them that they could of course submit stories anonymously.
- Mercedes: What tips or advice would you give to new authors like yourself?
- Danielle: Take your time. An idea may just come to you one day but don't force it. Take time to get all the little details. Carry around paper and a pen. It's much easier to write an idea down as soon as it comes up as opposed to trying to remember it later.
- Mercedes: Of course. Anything else?
- Danielle: I think that's about it, but if anyone would like to do an interview feel free to email me at Perfectlyimperfectlifee@hotmail.com
